Sara,
Words cant express how much I feel for you and Star and her family right now. I remember the days of hanging out with her in the early years when she was dating Leo. She ALWAYs had my back. And boy do I have a story...
Plain and simple...that girl was fantastic! ... See More
In our lives, people come and go...like the seasons. We are close, then they leave, sometimes we leave...and then again, sometimes, they leave because they are destined to go to a place that is greater than here. For us, we are left with memories. We must never forget why they were with us in the first place. It starts with a great energy that connects us, then acceptance, understanding, friendship, love and absolutely loyalty. You and Star were the ones who made it till the very end of a relationship...loyalty.
I know it's a tough time for you right now...but I also know that your strength and resiliency will help you overcome. In fact, it's what is needed. Your daughter and Star's son, need you to be strong. To teach them about life and the SOUL of a person, rather than the death of a person. I cannot even begin to feel your grief at this point. I'm sure you stay strong already, but then breakdown when you miss her or know that she will not be a phone call away. Let's not forget, that a phone call only connects you to a voice, her spirit and her soul is still here! If you want to reach out to her. Talk to her....she'll hear you.
When we see a loved one move on to the next life, we hold on to them selfishly...because we miss them, we get mad and wonder...how or why did she get dealt this destiny at such a young age, why did they take this course, what happened, and why did they leave us so soon. We think to ourselves and ponder...what if this happen to me, or to another family or friend, or even worse, to our children. This is very hard...I am crying just thinking about that.
Perhaps, it's not our life to live, not our life to judge or not our life to control. Star, lived a life with you as her best friend. She had a great kid...she had Destini and she had great people around her. There is a famous chinese proverb that basically says..." It you have made ONE BEST and dearest friend in you lifetime...then your life was worth living." She had you and more!
She lived a good life. God and the world needed her somewhere else....she was a good person and moved on in the most painless way possible. By no means did she move on in vain. I was only a pebble in her pond, but what she did for me was immeasurable and in someway, shaped me. I will tell you about it one day....what she did. It's actually a very hilarious and very "STAR" kind of thing. It was FANTASTIC. I'm sure you got to experience that many times!
Please let me know what I can do for you or her family. And please call me or I can call you and have you over for dinner and some vino.
Dont deny yourself any feeling that you have..feel it all...but in great strength...knowing that Star is closer to you now more than she was before. she's a whisper away....
Kerry

Kerry... your words truly helped me through one of the hardest parts of not having Star physically with us. I miss being able to pick up the phone anytime of day to call her... we spoke almost every day, 10x's a day. So thank you for this.
